The Pink House With Light Green Shutters, France

A languid French summer, when the bees hum around lavender and honeysuckle, and the crickets whisper, an old house bakes quietly in the sun, as it has done for a hundred years. Flowers hug its pink, marzipan walls, a fusion of flower and twig and plaster. Inside the floorboards creak and expand, and a faint melody of piano is heard. It is lunchtime and the scent of the pollen mixes with the sweetness of a delicious cake, fresh and eggy, strawberry and vanilla perhaps, or perhaps caramel.
This colourful, cheerful work is a wonderful addition to any collection, a great souvenir of France.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang  without a frame if wished.
