The American Cinema

America fascinates and draws, evokes and stirs. Vast continent, land of dreams. I visited one hot June, to Chicago, a city whose very name put me in mind of gangsters and prohibition and huge Art Deco towers, a sense of space and wonder. In my dreams I conjured dusty towns and diners that served creamy milkshakes of strawberry and cream, never ending hope and adventure. And what could be more symbolic of the dream than the cinema, the silver screen where all dreams come true. I was drawn to this building and have painted it twice. It is a lovely work, full of colour, full of summer, full of dreams. It can be purchased from my site, or ask me about buying it directly to save costs. It is priced at £85.
